Caseus Italy 2026: four prizes among 117 cheeses from twelve regions
Two days, 536 cheeses judged, 117 of them in the eighth national competition for dairies: at Villa Contarini near Padua we won the washed-rind category with the Fenum – and took second place twice.

Our results
- 1st place
- Fenum – washed-rind cheeses
- 2nd place
- Pane – flavoured and refined cheeses
- 2nd place
- Dolomitenkaiser – semi-hard cheese, two to six months

Three certificates in two days – and among the washed-rind cheeses our name is at the top: Drei Zinnen Dairy, Toblach, with the Fenum. We will say it plainly: we are proud of that.
Where we competed
Caseus Italy is Italy’s large cheese fair; it took place on 3 and 4 October 2026 at Villa Contarini near Padua. 536 cheeses were judged, 117 of them in the eighth national competition for dairies – houses from twelve regions, from the Aosta Valley to Sicily. The figures come from the organisers; our wheels travelled there from the ripening cellar in Toblach. More at caseusitaly.it.

What it means
First place among the washed-rind cheeses – for the Fenum from our ripening cellar.

A first place in the washed-rind category says more about the daily work in the ripening cellar than about a single day: a washed rind means caring for it by hand for weeks, wheel after wheel. For us this is no lucky hit – it is the same cheese we hand across the counter in Toblach.
What our dairy stands for
Our milk comes from around 120 farms in the Dolomites. They are family farms – and at the same time the owners: Drei Zinnen Dairy is a cooperative of its farmers. For us quality is not an award you win, but a decision taken anew every day: when the milk arrives, in the vat, in the ripening cellar.
You can taste the award-winning cheeses in our shop in Toblach – the Fenum, the Dolomitenkaiser and the Pane we also send to your home. How they are made, we show you at Cheese World.
